I woke up yesterday morning and everything looked right for a day of spottie fishing. So I loaded up the yak and hit MB at 6:30am. I was soon paddling and fishing. The tide was coming in and the spotties were on the chew. The conditions were awesome with no wind and comfortable temps. The water was suprising clear after all the rains we just had. I hit several spots tossing the plastics smothered in Uni Butter and such. Most spotties were in or by the weeds and if you could find a good ledge with grass nearby it was even better. I fished the shorelines and deeper channels and all held fish. The tide slowed so I headed over to the big bay and launched the yak again. This was about 11am. The fishing in the big bay was slow but I did manage a pig of a spottie. 20 inches and fat!!! It's a good thing too as the spotties were few and far between in SD Bay. All the frickin lizards you could want though. Off the water at 2:30 and headed to the dentist for some teeth work. That was fun. A great day on both bays with nice weather and plenty of good fishing. Fish Count MB: 12 spotties (nothing big) SDB: 2 spotties (one impressive one) 6,000 lizard fish All C&R with one dead cigar.
