First report I've posted here, lots of great info.

Saturday took the Sportking out of La Waterfront, out to Catalina.

Bumpy ride across the channel, after grabbing some 5-7 Sardines.

Stayed on the front side all day, started near Avalon, for a few Bonita and barricuda. Picked up one of each on the fly line. Bro got barry on the surface iron. No love on the colt snipers.

Then worked our way north for some scattered Reds/Groupers/ and whitefish. Mostly on squid strips and a few Pooper on dines.

Water was near 64° in a few spots, 63.8° and clean. Maybe a couple yellow boils.

Pretty slow, but nice to get some surface action. Ended with about 12 assorted rockfish, 2 Barry's and a bonito for two guys. Couple small calicos released. Kept the rockfish, gave away the rest.

Setup- live bait, 15lb floro leader, #2/0 ringed flyliner. Double ganion with shrimp flies and gulp squirts for the bottom grabbers. Took JP with a Barry, opted for free pass.

    Thanks guys. Sorry no pics.

Man, I almost forget how much I love getting bit on the fly line. Great to have something pull some drag too.

Great report. Sport Iing is great - I love the gravely sound of Bruce’s voice over the P/A. Especially when he is giving feedback to deckhands or passengers

Thanks. Yeah, Bruce in great, very fun and entertaining, don't fish this boat if you are thin skinned!
Couple stops the conditions looked like they could have popped at any moment. Sounds like I missed it by a day.

Thanks for the report. Going out Friday. Don't know where I'll head. Looks like it is going to be sunny though.
