First report I've posted here, lots of great info. Saturday took the Sportking out of La Waterfront, out to Catalina. Bumpy ride across the channel, after grabbing some 5-7 Sardines. Stayed on the front side all day, started near Avalon, for a few Bonita and barricuda. Picked up one of each on the fly line. Bro got barry on the surface iron. No love on the colt snipers. Then worked our way north for some scattered Reds/Groupers/ and whitefish. Mostly on squid strips and a few Pooper on dines. Water was near 64° in a few spots, 63.8° and clean. Maybe a couple yellow boils. Pretty slow, but nice to get some surface action. Ended with about 12 assorted rockfish, 2 Barry's and a bonito for two guys. Couple small calicos released. Kept the rockfish, gave away the rest. Setup- live bait, 15lb floro leader, #2/0 ringed flyliner. Double ganion with shrimp flies and gulp squirts for the bottom grabbers. Took JP with a Barry, opted for free pass. Thanks guys. Sorry no pics.
