Looking to get a Slow Pitch setup but don’t want to break the bank. Pretty much settled on the Torium for a reel, but can’t decide between the 14HG or 16HG. Unfortunately none of the shops around me have them in stock so I can’t compare. Planning on pairing it with the Tsunami 6’6” MH. I’m not concerned with line capacity since I’ll be fishing in less than 200’. Biggest concern is drag 17lbs vs. 25lbs I believe. Thoughts? Any other recommendations? Thanks!

Get the 14HG. Smaller reel, lighter, easier to handle. You will probably be using 30-40# braid so you don't need any more that 12# of drag. Rock fish?

Great info, thanks. Actually live in the panhandle of Florida. Mostly Grouper and Snapper.

If none of the local shops stock them, then who will be servicing them? Are you planning to ship to Shimano for service?

A Penn Fathom 15 is about the same as a Torium 14 if your shops carry those.
