The fireworks started early for me yesterday...
    42"...34lbs.
She ate a Sardine, took her time coming up on 20#line, then wouldn't get close to the yak for a clean shot on the belly...I swam her around a couple of times (while watching that hook just on the edge of her jaw) then made my shot and got her on the clip...what an adrenalin rush to get that big girl on the yak and game over. It's a new PB Butt on the yak for me.
Watched the fireworks and grilled some Halibut steaks with a orange honey marinade/glaze and topped them with an Avocado Mango Salsa...YUM!!!
    Good Luck
    Jim/ Saba Slayer

That is one fine looking flattie. Did you keep the jaws by chance? Would make a nice trophy.

Thanks Guys...I've been pretty lucky the last couple of weeks!

As somebody on a kayak board said...it's all about the "belly shot" with the gaff...it really freezes them up, untill you get the clip on them.
    Good Luck

Well done Jim. I could tell it was over 30#s just seeing it's head and tail sticking out of the ice. Made my 18#er look like a Sole.
