Got the invite from yellowklr aka Derek and Vic, headed out to La Salina. Gassed the Boat up, Made it to the spot in no time. Started getting bit on the bottom And now we have fish on the boat a variety of speicies getting Johnny Bass, boccaccio, Reds, and calicos on the way up. In the morning we saw Yellowtails boiling in front of the boat and we thought well this looks very promising. As we were about to make the Move Boom Get hit hard and line is peeling off the Trinidad 20a, we think its a big ling. But then makes a good run and then the famous yellowtail head shake. Deep color and it's a Yellowtail! Estimated 20lbs. The day turned out amazing with everything working from Surface iron, yoyo and trolling! The calicos were fatties all fatties. Got a really Big Red and all the Juanito bass you can catch! The yellowtails were everywhere the birds helped alot as we would chase them down and troll for hook ups! Derek hooked up to a yellowtail 20ft from the boat on the surface iron watched him come in a chase the jig eat it and realize the fish doesn't know hes hooked up! Was totally insane. Water Temp was a solid 68-69° swell at 5, afternoon swell died down sun was out weather was perfect to slay some yellows! Great day. Thanks Derek for the invite!
