Wow; collectors item there. Post up some pics. I always felt Shimano got rid of those reels because they wanted to offer more expensive lines. The small TLD's were really nice.

Ya that is exactly what they did. They still sell the charter specials which are near identical to the TLD 5 and 10 but they have level wind.

wow ! didn't realize the tld 5's and possibly the tld10 may be worth so much. i have two 5's and one ten that i sent back to shimano in the day for their service recall regarding water intrusion.

i took them with me initially but never used them because i used my newells more so they have boat rash.

any idea as to value for reel usage or for scavenging for parts ?

    Not really.

Buy low sell high...... it's the way of the world. If a person scores on something at a great price and the going market can get them far more than what they paid, whether it be a house, property, car, boat, tackle, bitcoin.... basically you name it....... then more power to that person.

When they're trying to get more than what that same item can easily be found and bought for....... that's another story. Pretty sure there aren't a bunch of never used TLD 5's laying around ;)

People quick flip items everyday for fast profit...... no wrong in doing that.

What exactly is shady? The fact I make money and you likely make $10 an hour in some shitty job?

Go find a brand new TLD with a box and the tools and the manual in perfect condition. Let me know after you find even one reel.

I found an ex dealer with 5 TLD 5s and 3 Tld 10s. I bought them all. While u idiots are making $10 an hour I am building my own business and making side money selling fishing tackle, reels and rods.

Lol.... Bro.. the minimum wage in CA is higher than $10 an hour and these are grown ass men on this forum. You're not finding anyone on here making $10 an hour. That's cool if you want a side hustle but growing a business on 8 reels..... Cmon mannnnnn

What the seller does not understand is that the people on Bloodydecks consider other people on this site to be like extended family. Many of the people have fished together for years and would never take advantage of a fellow fisherman just to make a few bucks. I see items all the time that I know I could buy for a good price and then flip it to make a couple of bucks but I would rather let another fisherman who is going to use the item get it and fish it. When I have something to sell I always offer it to the Bloodydecks guys for less money than I would to the general public. When the seller gets a little more mature and has a little more money in the bank he may start to understand. I think he will do well on eBay but no so well here. I would never have posted this except for the fact that the guy made some very rude comments about peoples jobs and income. If he really was a fisherman he would know that most of the guys going on long range trips have much better jobs and much higher incomes that he will ever have in his entire life.

    Mr. TLD 5,
The very people you call idiots are the same people you hope will break down and spend their hard earned money from their shitty 10.00 an hour job and buy your out of production, can't get parts or serviced reel so you might want to rethink that comment

Fact of the matter is that the vast majority of people on BD all love to fish and are very savey about fishing gear so don't think for a minute that you are going bring your " I'm going to sell my gear to shitty job worker idiots and make a ton of money" attitude here..... You might go broke waiting for the right idiot ;)

Good luck with your sale...try craigslist if you don't get any biters here.
    Signed,
Just a retired shitty job idiot working on my boats (s)

BTW- I have 2 of those reels like new in the box ...not for sale , I like to fish em:)
