Bass are bass but I was excited to get back out so here it goes - Been dealing with some trailer issues for the last month or two - finally got it worked out and received permission for a quick solo trip on Saturday. The old mercury fired right up after 6 weeks off and we headed south for a bit - weather was awesome

Hit the last of the outgoing tide and had all the suspended bass I wanted - funnest way to bass if you ask me. They were all puking up the red crab - swimbaits with some red worked best.

Stopped at the local reefs on the way back and lucked into this

6.5 lbs and one awesome looking calico. Most caught on this little rig - pretty fun - reel random Christmas gift from father in law rod bob sands recommendation.

Probably 15 - 20 bass - ~ 40% calicos. All sent back home. Have an excellent week!

Great stuff! Love the orange in the calico's cheeks. Getting ready to do the love dance!

Thanks guys definitely good to get back out. The old mercury has it's share of issues but will suffice until I'm through peak childcare (couple more months) ! :) Those kids will suck you dry!
