Headed out to Izors today. Got a late start due to the Anaheim Bay naval closure for the ship. No line in the water until 8:30. No current, decent clarity to about 15 feet, water Temps 57 to 59, winds 2-5 mph until about 1pm, then no higher than 7ish. Outside Temps in the 70's. Porpoise all over the shallower area 60 to 75 feet, lots of bait, some birds. Saw two Hump back whales surface about 70 ft from me! Cool!
No fish, no bites until 11:15! Had to move around quite a bit. Got my first three completely outside of Izors proper. Ended up with 2 calicos, one sculpin, and 12 sand bass by 3pm. Mostly an afternoon bite once the wind and current came around. All on plastics, mixed colors. Healthy sand bass! No scraggly fins. All released!
Dogs joined me today, they got a trip to Dog Beach! They loved it!
Any stories on the 100 fathom Rockfish opener?? Gonna try again tomorrow. Tight lines!

Thanks for the report. Hopefully when they're all done with the HH rebuild, we won't get stuck waiting for the navy to move their ships. I wonder if there is a web site or hot line informing people of their move times/delays. Going fri for rockfish

Getting in a lot of time on the water, right on Larry! Thumb still sore as hell, at least a couple of weeks to heal.

Nice report, I saw 3 humpbacks stuck inside the jetty last week at San Pedro. There when we launched and there when we landed.
