    It was only my 4th day flying it, the learning curve is actually not too bad if you've ever played a first person shooter.

    Thanks for all the great feedback guys, if I knew Ali was going to post it up on BD I would have spent more than 10 minutes on the edit!

    If anyone is interested in footage of their boat and you're local...shoot me a PM.
    I work for beer :cheers:

    That's the impression I got (not flying it for a long time) when Jason replied that you were just goofing around in the other thread. If I didn't know, I would have sworn you had been doing this for a long time. Maybe it's just me, but I love this kind of footage...... totally bitchen!

    So weren't you just a little paranoid about dumping that thing in the water after only 4 days of practice??

    10 minute video edit!? Geeez you're killing me here!

    Whats the point of buying really expensive toys if you're not going to use them for their intended purpose?

    This is probably my favorite footage from the flight I'm sad I accidentally left it out of the final edit. It was definately the hardest part to film, but certainly the most fun. It shows how fast this thing really goes, I think Alisaid he hit 26? and I was still getting ahead of the boat.

    OUTSTANDING footage!!! Your thoughts on how feasible it would be to employ similar drones in search of floating pattys?

    This is why I bought it, as a really tall tuna tower. However, plan to invest another $1000 in batteries and FPV systems. The drone alone isn't enough. You lose all your safety features like Home Lock and return to home when you're afloat. So be prepared to lose at least one to the drink in your days

    Why is the FPV capability obsolete when on the pond? Maybe time to patten a buoyant water tight platform with a GPS recovery beacon. Extended battery life and range wouldn't hurt either. I know, If it was only that easy! The technology is out there but focused specifically around the military/battlefield arena. And that don't come cheap... Either way, you are definitely on to something! Good luck!!!

    Great video!!!

    The RTH feature is killer but too bad it doesn't work on the water.

    Great idea to use it for paddys!!!

    Again, thanks for all the awesome feedback!

    I've set up a set of floaties to use when it goes in the water. Yes..."when", not "If"

    @Piece of Ship
    The FPV isn't obsolete on the water, it's actually ESSENTIAL to the operation, I can't see flying one without it.
    The built in features like RTH will bring the drone back to the point it took off from if the signal is lost. This is fun when on land, but it really sucks when your boat isn't at that GPS location. It will return to home, but home is the drink, unless you can get your boat on the exact spot. The counter part to that is, you can infact take control back of the drone if you come within range of it.
