Have heard a story from a legit LR personal that a long long time ago they hooked massive bft in the way over super cow status after departing Lupe. After every big reel was spooled the boat would continue on its way :D:eek:

Agree, want to get in shorts and t shirt weather ASAP and that doesn't happen until you get south Abreojos.

Question, Did the Q105 run north on for Alibies? and what was the longest trip? I'm new to this long range.

I remember reading a story by Frank Lopresti in my Grandpas WON about 500 to 800lb Bluefin at Guadalupe. It was a long, long time ago.

If the Bluefin where bitting like they are now, I wouldn't mind the first day on them. Frozen taste as good as RSW to me. But I think there's some legal issues catching Bluefin and then going to Mexico with them. If not, fish them when they are bitting. All 200lb tuna sound the same when they hit the deck.

I am sure we can figure out how to kill a few now with the gear that is available. Just get John and Basil on a boat and get-er done.

You guys that wanted it got your wish. The Intrepid just posted a 1.5 day trip leaving Saturday the 25th at 8am to fish the big bluefin. Great chance with very good, warm weather upcoming.

The American Angler added a 1.5 day BFT special departing this Friday. Be back by Sunday morning with possibly a jumbo bft. This is historic 1.5 day fishing and I doubt it will last long

So if you can't hop on a 12-18 day LR tropical giant yft/hoo trip or a Lupe trip then I think this could be a great opportunity to catch a tuna over 100lbs.

I think approximately 600 anglers per year can fish the ultra long trips. Retired or great job or trustafisherman

I saw the Qualifier 105 in the Homer, AK marina a couple years back. I remembered it from being a kid in San Diego. Someone on here, I believe, said it's been turned into a research vessel.

It might already be sold out. It seems like spots are being filled every 10 minutes. The 1st trip on the angler is sold out, The Angler added a second one for Mon night. It still has a few spots. Better make a Fast Decision. They both are excellent boats and the food is Great.

RS did well today. May have really encouraged Intrepid and AA to do this.
