Went out looking for the wfo cuda bite with a few buddies. Left Cabrillo around 6 am. Coming out rounding LA light we were looking at breezy conditions with mixed up seas. 3 ft and a little bumpy but not horrible. It was supposed to flatten out shortly. We shot to the west end of the shelf to spot out some of my spots and get the way of the land. I knew I had some time to kill before the cuda went on the chew. I saw lots of bait and what appeared to be cuda on the ff. We spent a little while seeing if they were in a biting mood. They were not. We shot over the PV . We slid in shallow under 50 ft and and did some drifting And spot locking on some good looking spots. The calicos were cooperative and we quickly got on the board. A few times flocks of bass would follow hooked fish up. It looks good up there and the water was clean green. We headed back to the Shoe-bout 10. The whole fleet was there . Some bird activity with boils around. Lots of pb today. I slid in near the others and spot locked for the next few hours. Swell was from the East and the good current had the fleets sterns facing Long Beach. We chucked Tadys , rapalas, different irons and the cuda weren’t that interested in our offerings. Boats around me were better than me. WTH! The Cuda were more show than go. Sport boats weren’t doing a lot of catching either. The current made for a really good Calico bite. We wound on Calicos for a couple of hours. We made a short move and the calico bite continued. We found the bass bit the flash minnow on 10 lb really good. We caught probably 25 calicos and a handful of Cuda. We had a great time . No pics. Water was 65-68. Bass were mostly small today. Go get um!
