Previously I just took it to FedEx and they did it all. Now I see there is a significant difference between do it yourself labels vs counter prices . Sooooo how do I measure the tube? Website only shows boxes. Thanx for your help.

The one I choose to ride.
I've shipped mine UPS in the past and not even needed measurements. I'd give Mike @ Big Fish Transport a call; he's in the business of tackle logistics for us "out of towners". PM me and I've got his info.

I ship a rod tube all the time on Fedex, using print my own labels. For the dimensions, try going to the rod tube's manufacturer's web site. I have an SKB and a large Plano tube. If you need dimensions, let me know.

just remember when you get over the 104" measurement the price jumps shipping long rods is costly and that might shorten after the first
