I traded my Stella for a few reels and one that I don’t know what to do with one. It’s a Trinidad 12a. For those of you who fish a 12a what rod are you fishing them with? I was kinda thinking a Phenix M-1 inshore 20-45# just because I want that rod and can switch it out with my Lexa sometimes.

Great little 15-20lb bait reel, especially for finicky, weak bait in late summer/early fall when tiny hooks are the game, but that 82H is a pretty stiff rod for it. I really like that rod as well, but it was designed for fishing big 170-190mm jerkbaits with relatively large hooks. That rod should be fished closer to 10lbs of drag where the baby Trinis should be fished closer to 5lbs, they don't really like putting out a whole lot, the Lexa would be great on that rod. The Trini would be better off on the 12-25lb ML or if you wanted to stay with Phenix and something similar in action that would be more suited for bait fishing, the Axis 82ML would be great.
