Thanks. Been slow except some nice WSBs.
Chiflo (Tiburon) got 2 big ones today.
But still want to go outside for tuna or yellowtail.
Gonna try WSBs for a short while then outside...
Weather is good.
Been alot of fun going to the ramp and checking out the catch.
Oh well, had sticky window fixed on car, ordered some poppers, short time , probably start packing, more presents to take down, new shocks front. Car would probably fall apart if not for little excursions. Hope you had fun . Fleetwood Mac. Oh Well , life a bitch and then you die. Worship the good times beautiful on your beach tonight, lucky man
I owe you all a report.
Even though nothing to tell.
We stuck with the fish plan.
Made bait early. Beautiful weather.
No wind and glassy water.
Pure my request we charged outside.
We gave a small effort for WSBs while making bait. Because that is where they will be. With the bait schools.
No joy so we charged south and out.
We found absolutly beautiful clean blue water around 10 miles out.
We looked and trolled for hours but just could not find any life out there right now.
69 degree water and very clean.
But no tuna in the area.
Of course the radio was alive with a few boats on the WSBs.
We listened to that all day.
We hit some yellowtail spots on the way in an also not there yet.
We finally gave into the urge to join the fleet on the WSBs.
A few boats got em and a few boats fished all day for WSBs and didn't get any.
We pulled up on the bite just in time to see Titos on a fish and we watched that come over the rail.
But that was the last fish on the day.
We crockodiled like man men but didn't get one.
It was a beautiful day on the water.
And ofcourse my decision to hunt tuna was second guessed for the whole day.
But the same boat and captain fished WSBs the day before for nothing.
That's how White Sea Bass are.
And that's fishing.
We got a few taco fish and had a great day on the water.
And my tuna lust is temporarilly satisfied.
But I might need to get back out there... if those WSBs keep teasing me like this... I gotta try while they're here.
And they are here.
So plan a trip and come down and split a boat...
Lots of folks catching wsb these days with Captain Juan Cook seeming to have zeroed in on some of the best and most consistent action. Lots of photos on the San Quintin Fishing Report page - let me know and I should be able to hook you up with a few others willing to split the cost on a day with Captain Juan...
