Real quick, hauled out Monday, back in Friday.

Got everything put back together on Saturday, Tommy and Dan joined me for a shakedown cruise Sunday. Tried bait, not so much, ran up to the Kaena ledge, got a Kawa'Kawa on the ledge, headed around and up North. Inside II we changed out the spread and went looking.

Not much happening at II, bounced between the 500 & 1000 working our way back towards the middle (Kaena), had an Ono grab the port rigger just to trash the lure (hot one from last trip). Awhile later had something rip down the center, never stuck.

It was getting late so we cut across inside the 500, could see some boats on the Lee Side of Kaena, headed that way. As we get closer could see some birds, looked like the same activity as the previous trip, we never got in them... Port rigger went.

Dan (Tommy's friend) visiting from the mainland had angling duties, Tommy and I cleared lines Dan kept the line tight. Lots of head shaking going on, always get nervous when they work hard at ridding themselves of the hooks. Never really got deep color, because he stayed upright (couldn't see the white belly), not on his side. For me, those fish are usually pretty stupid at leader. Leader popped up quick, I leadered Tommy will gaff. As soon as I grab the leader the fish blast off towards the bow, settle down little guy, 300# leader and leader man not letting go, he didn't get too far, Tommy buried the gaff and over the side he came. Happy and Thankful.

Lures, left to right port rigger ahi, center bite came off, Ono bit (hot lure from last week) and port rigger ledge Kawa-Kawa.
    Cheers

Nice Ahi. One time we had an ahi give us trouble at leader using the orange gloves with the rubber line grips. Then are friend turned us on to goatskin gloves from ace hardware way better for gripping and leadering big fish compared to other gloves.

    Thanks Mike, any BI trips?
Thanks Eric, "stole" sounds somewhat accusatory, I do like what they did with it.

Pat I agree Blackfins and yours in particular are Great boats. Carl Herndon is also a legend in the FL and overall sportfishing boat design industry. After Blackfin went out of business he was part of Jupiter Yachts.
Just joking around but the old school Bertram guys do say he took some mold designs with him. I think the 32' BF is a far superior hull design than the 31' Bertram which of course is itself a legendary hull at Bertram. The 32 is a bigger boat is probably more fairly compared to the 33 Bertram

You boat sure looks great out of the water and even better back in action!
    For your interest....
