Hi all. I am currently working up by Homer, and I have a couple family members coming up to check it out in a couple weeks and are interested in a charter. From all I have seen, the charters all seem to be closed after September, which puts a damper on the plans. I assume this is just due to seasons and lack of customers. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas of how we could get out on the water? Looking to target rockfish and lings ideally, maybe some butts.

Thanks,
Jax

It's winter king season in Homer and might be too late for what you want. If you are still interested and close enough to make a trip to the harbor to see what is coming in, talk to the operators, see their boats, I would do so. I agree with waldocod's recommendation.

heard good things about driftwood charters out of homer as well. I just saw a picture of some guys who were trolling around the end of the spit and picked up a couple ping pong paddle halibut as well. They are around all year just not in any great numbers.
