I picked up another Ulua yesterday (thanks Franky) and the butt end is supper fat, Fatter than my other Uluas. I was thinking of doing in handle with the very thin tuna cord (seine cord, the black shit) so to cut down on the thickness. Other than not going nuts thighting the reel clamp too much any downside to using it? Will be a lot of cord to wrap. Thanks

I don't know what is thinner,1/16" cord from Atwood rope,or coreless paracord. At least either of those provide more color options. If that is what you want.

You can go with tarred seine cord. I've used size 15 and 12 on uluas. Super thin

Thanks I have the really thin tarred seine cord. It’s a black blank so I think I’ll just murder it and save some time. Gonna take awhile to do that handle with that thin cord. Hope one spool is enough haha

I have that thin stuff on greenie 93h. Trinidad 20 and a saltist 40 fit fine stock clamps. Needed 1 1/2” screws from Home Depot to fit a fathom 25n. Will also need same hardware added to tiburon clamp for any reels with insufficient stock clamps. Going to have the rod re wrapped over the winter and will use same cord.

Thanks I have a greenie too that I use a trini 20 on. Really sweet set up. This thing is way fatter but much thinner wall. Super light weight compared to the other uluas. Should fish nice
