I'd rather have gone catch and release fishing than not have gone. It was not a total loss as you still caught fish. Go on a "boat ride" for 2 days with minimal fishing and you will appreciate the catching you had. That said, there should be some sort of compensation in the form of discounts on future trips. If I was a captain I would not refund but only credit toward future trips.

That's too bad. I have fished Captain Scott's boats for 15 years and have never had a bad experience in any way. He always goes above and beyond to make the customers happy. Not sure what happened with the name caller above maybe he brought it on. Who knows. I would never hesitate to fish that boat.

I'm not trying to open anything just saying i wont ride that boat again.....was a year ago since i have been on, but i do remember is the chef was Top notch. so my father and i decided to donate an albacore. he made some great sushi for everyone to enjoy for dinner day 1. If great food while fishing is you're thing, then i would book this boat. My problem is i paid for a 2 day $495.00 + other expenses total about $600 per person, and on day 2 we are fishing with 3/4 day boats $130.00 per person. What was the fuel surcharge for? i'm sure everyone here is loaded and can afford to go whenever they please right! I know i have read several reports of anglers saying the same thing, maybe not about this boat, but all across the fleet this shit goes on. that's why i read these forums for detailed reports. That was just my experience on that particular trip so maybe things have changed, but they have lost me as a customer.

I learned most of my standup fishing, fishing with Scott on the Grande. He was very fun to fish with. Never had a problem.

That said, some compensation should be given. A whole two day trip is a lot of $$$. Maybe 10#'s of tuna and 5#'s a dodo from a fish processor for each person, no more than that.

BTW: I would never ever my wildest dreams run a sport fishing operation in San Diego. Maybe if I were the SOA. No internet, no fish counts, very few open party trips. Just silently killing fish.

Bstabski, you're input is OUT OF LINE and FULL OF SHIT most of the time. As a
veteran, I'm sick of your constant negative bullshit on here. Not ALL boats at
H&M are what you're suggesting. I've fished with Mike on BigGame90 and Chris
on Indian for years, Chris now on Chief...before you were born! Also Brad and
Mark on First String,OO, Producer, and two of the top longrange boats in the entire
San Diego Fleet...Red RoosterIII and Spirit of Adv. also call H&M home landing.
Granted some boats are old, as are some at other landings, and guys like me and
other VETS who's fished them for more years than you probably ever WILL.
My suggestion to you is before opening your jackass mouth and spewing dung
all over our Bloody Decks website, ask yourself what the FUCK am I saying?????
I too like "truthfull" trip reports here, but jumping on the negative bandwagon
like YOU do all the time here, is getting fucking old! GOT IT????

Things break on boats, and I agree leaving the dock with the RSW broken
is bullshit, if that was the case. I too have been on trips when we had to
cut a trip short or run for the barn to keep the fish good, but ragging on
some of the best tuna captains and crews from the backseat like you is bullshit!

Thank you for reenforcing my point by posting it again.

You were not on the boat so why are you defaming one of the top skippers in the fleet?

Don't you have a private boat to try to brown nose your way on to? We've all seen your "boat ho wannabe" posts too many times...
