It was a very nice morning with no wind and clear skies....but MAN IT WAS COLD!!!!!!!!! I got to the bay just before sun-up to get ready for some yak bassing. The temp reading in the truck was 44 degrees.

Got out of the truck and on the yak just as the sun was coming up. The water felt much warmer than the air...that's for sure. I was soon tossing the plastics and on the spotties. They were willing to chew and agressive about it. Spotties were being caught on about every 4th or 5th cast. I got tired of these guys and went to a new spot looking for sand bass. I found them biting too. Even managed one sand bass that went 17 inches.

Lots of bait in the bay that morning. I wish I would have had a sabiki or small croc or something. I did get a few on the bass lures and quickly stowed them away for bug bait.

No wind was blowing and the tide was slowing so I finished my cigar and called it a morning about 9:30am.

Fish were caught on plastics with Uni Butter and Gulp. Spotties were shallow and the sandies were deep.

    Fish count:

    7 Lizard fish
    4 Mackeral (bug bait)
17 Spotties (biggest was 13 in)
8 Sandies (biggest was 17 in)

    That's it

All fish (except macs) were C&R

Nice Report Sherm! That's some pretty damn good fishing for just a couple hours.

Isn't this a rhyme from the old Willy Wonka movie ? :D
