Scorpion Sportfishing featuring El Regalo Report - April 24, 2016 Fishing on the East Cape this week was a bit inconsistent but at times great. Temperatures are great and it is starting to look more like summer and less like spring. Seems like less and less windy days this past week. Wahoo were found earlier in the week. One day we encountered a school of wahoo on the banks which yielded three nice wahoo up to 35 lbs. Mostly caught on rapalas which have been killer for the Scorpion Sportfishing team. Fishing for roosterfish was on the uptick with several nice fish being caught. Most of the fish are in the 5-20 lb range but there are some big boys around as well. The striped marlin bite also turned on later in the week and into the weekend. Although some had success trolling lures and ballyhoo, most marlin took bait fished deep off the banks. Things are looking up on the East Cape as we head into May. Just in time, the newly repowered El Regalo is ready to go. You have got to see how this Cabo 35 flies with its brand new twin Cummins 480's!!! Make sure to book early to get in on the action.
