Got the invite to fish with my dude Evan. Plan was to make our way to sci around 4pm Thursday and fish the jumbos that night.
We got beat to shit in the 23ft maritime.
We stopped on a really nice paddy on the way out. All we had were jigs so I flung the glow FF and got bit. Felt like a yellow. Ended up pulling the hook.
Made our way and ended up at the island around 9:45 with about 40 other boats.
We were marking fish all night but no love for the flat fall.
Day break and we start metering more fish. No biters.
We spot a foamer of 80-100 fish and I hooked one on the popper for him to only spit it at the boat soon later.
    Oh well.
The jumbos were mostly a time of day bite. We hooked and landed two fish around sunset on the frozen flyer. We flew it right on top the breezer.
First fish taped at 240lbs and the second 220.
It was a team effort. The explosions they made on the yummy were so rad.
    Epic day. Extremely long day.
    Go get em.
Don’t forget your poppers. Fish are foaming.

We will be out there tonight. We were 12miles out of Newport last night and a water pump failure had us pushing the rope back to newport. Spent all after noon replacing the pump . Hoping for that one big bite.

We were out there Wednesday afternoon and flew the yummy from 5:30 for an hour and wind and South swell were not friendly. Took a beating heading back to avalon and shoulda stayed for the grey light bite but weather came up that was not forecasted. Good job staying on it and it paid off well for you every trip is a learning experience and will hopefully get them next time. Did you drift with the kite and frozen flyer?
