My dad Joe took out the GalaxSea yesterday and fished in and around the 224, the 230, and the 302 looking for albacore. The crew was Mickey, his friend, and 2 Dave's from BD, and one more BDers. Joe and crew found slow fishing during the morning hours until around 9:00 AM when they found a kelp paddie. They caught 5 nice sized yellowtail from this kelp and some yt did break off in the kelp. They found this paddie west of the 224.

Joe said that they trolled the rest of the day trying for albacore but did not have any luck. He said they found bluefin tuna boiling the further west that they went. They tried small megabait lures but the bluefin would not bite.

    Totals
    5 yt
    0 albies
    0 bft

Mike, I was on the trip. Thanks again for posting, we had a great time. All the yellows were over 20lbs too, with the biggest being 25+. Lots of bluefin out there and we threw everything we had at em, but they just weren't interested. Nice boat by the way.

    Hey Mike,

I was on the trip as well with the other Dave. We had a nice day on the water and was lucky enough to get 3 of those yellers. Still 0 for 3 now on trips for the tuna however. We tried trolling, bait and jigs on those breaking bluefin for nada...

Congradulations to the guys. Lots of others got skunked and you guys pulled in some very nice yellows. Too bad about the bluefin, jumping all around you and yet nada.
