I headed out to Santa Rosa Island (first time for me) from Channel Islands Harbor on Saturday. Picked up a scoop of squid and headed out in near zero visibility. We fished a few spots on the south side of Santa Cruz but couldn't seem to find the rocky areas we were looking for. We then made the run over to the pinnacles on the southeast side of Santa Rosa and found what we were looking for. We managed six lingcod (three legal), quite a few rockfish and some really big whitefish. I'm not a terribly good fisherman so that was a pretty epic day for me. There were quite a few red crab in the area. There was just one other boat there that I could see. A party boat showed up for a while and then left. I'm also pretty sure we saw a white shark but I'm not 100% certain on that.
