Took my friend Richard out for a half day of fishing aboard the "Red Drum" in the Santa Monica Bay on Saturday 5/3. The sea conditions were magnificent, the weather was epic and the fishing was alright.

My first Bass of the day, a tough pulling T-roller.

A couple cast later, and to my surprise, I pulled in a beautiful Blue Rockfish...almost felt like I was up in San Simeon. Definitely had to release that fish.

Richard with his first Calico of the morning.

When the Bass bite slowed down, we tried a little critter fishing.
    Rubberlip Sea Perch.

Finished the morning doing some Rockfish drops.

Richard with a nice tasty double.
