left Friday morning for SQ, fished sat & sun with Garcia's pangas, our capt. was Eddie, made bait on Saturday, headed out to I think the 240, not sure. loaded up on yellows in 2 hours, all were caught on lures. 10-15lbs, then headed for lings & reds, only managed 1 ling do due the ocean was red, full of crabs. did get limits of reds, sunday we made bait, only 5 or 7 pieces on purpose, didn't want to waste time making bait due to yellows weren't caught with them, we had nick on the boat that day & he has never caught a yellow, that was gonna change. we got to the spot, set up nick with live bait, he got a bonito (just a warm up). then we set him up with blue/white 6x. he dropped down & reel up a few times & nothing. so, chris (dogman619) hooked one up on his & handed to nick, he starts reeling up & it comes off, we tell him to reel, reel, fast & pow, it come back & hits it, got it to the boat & Eddie sinks the gaff into it, pulls it in & unhooks the yellow & from all the excitement, somehow nicks pole/lure hooks my trolling rod that was on the T-top holder & pulls it out & "splash" rite into the water & gone. nobody knows how it happend. but the good man he was, he did pay me for it. I'm just glad it was my cheapest setup I brought. ok, now to the YFT, still on sunday. after we get 10-15 yellows, we decided to fish for reds. on the way, we see a huge school of dolphin, we set the trollers out, minus mine :(, one had cedar plug, the other xrap 30 mac. 15-20 minutes go by & the xrap pole starts screaming, then cedar plug goes off, the thought we gonna pull up a couple bones, but both had yellowfins :rockin:, got them to the boat & in the boat, now we have a BLOODYDECK :D, kept trolling for a little while longer, got a couple bones, so we called it the day. we had a blast this weekend, glad I went.
later that day, the military shows up at the old mill for a couple hours, I guess "EL JEFE" was eating there, 1 guy had a grenade launcher :eek2:.
We did see capt Juan out there Sunday & nick at the heart from his 1st yellow

Hell Yeah we had fun! Thanks for the awesome firework show Derek. This guy brought a damn arsenal, a 45 minute sky show. Everyone was happy. Early limits o yellows, fat reds and couple tuna to top it off. That was great weekend. Big shout out to Javier at old Mill, old Mill was overbooked and he put us up in his house. What a guy!!!! Then there's his cooking, wow. He's one great chef.
Get down there now guys it's going off, yellows, bonies, fat reds, then tunas and dodo on the outside. It's coming back to life down there. Call your favorite captains and go fish SQ!!! :jig:
