San Pedro 5/9

First trip since Covid.
San Pedro has squid. I wore a mask, he didn’t (if you are interested). I tipped him 50%, I was so happy he had squid.
Water was 63-64 and weather started hazy but finished nice. Started at Two Doors and hit a couple before high tide at noon.

Bite died and I was ready for a move. Hit the reef just off Point Fermin. A few bites but it beat the day these sailors were having. I was oblivious until the VHF lit up with chat. But nothing from the sailboat. No VHF?? I was going to pull in my lines and anchor and stand by just in case but Coast Guard/Harbor Patrol called Sea Tow and they handled it. No problem ... except the boats gel coat???

Smooth seas and tight lines.

Once you get past the rest are easy, keep winding till you hear flappity flappity flappity as he goes round and round on the reel.

Seriously though, jealous you got out, great job

I’d fire the one handed cameraman but he was also the skipper, deck hand, pump out man, ... freakin’ covid.

Red tide bioluminescence... I’m just happy to be here.
