Fishing season is coming. Buying lead weight are in my future.

l have lead, some molds and most safety gear. But would like some larger and smaller torpedoes.
Does anybody else want to pour some lead?

I have molds for egg sinkers, 1 oz lead heads, a few torpedo molds, a cannonball. And a hundred pounds of lead to play with.
Thursday is a great day for me.

I have the blast furnace, the fuel and a place to do the melt, close to sea world.

My current Crucible can hold 130lbs of led per melt but I don't want to contaminate the crucible I have with led. I currently use it for bronze and aluminum.

If one of you guys can come up with a steel Crucible approximately 10" diameter and 12" high we can pour whatever you guys want and short order.

I'm thinking maybe an old large oxygen or argon gas welders tank. I could cut the base of the tank off and then we could just use a ladle to transfer from the crucible to the molds.

I have a crucible left over from my foundry days. It's black and about an inch thick. Forget what it's made of.

Sounds like it's probably a silicon carbide Crucible Mike. That'll do the trick if it's close to the right size.

The blast furnace is built around a B-40 crucible. do you happen to know the dimensions?

It's about 8" in diameter and about a foot tall.

If anyone does have some torpedo sinker molds (or any other molds) and doesn’t feel like pouring anymore, I’d be willing to trade some poured sinkers, jigs, or some finished lures for molds.
