You’re spot on, when the tide is coming in,Your sooo right brother. Those minus tides are a key for many secret spots I've found. But newbies don't know how fast that tide turns..... and its easy to get caught... With your guard down.. If you fish there..... stay alert. The tide returns quickly. Brother.....how about "poke poling" for shallow lings? ... deadly.
one time I was down there with my Brother , and he invited 2 friends,I think it is now.....haven't looked. But back in "the Day".....mlpa what? We hadn't dealt with that "headache" yet. Now days you need a GPS and location info before the haul your but off to jail.
Jerdog.....minus Low tide ....that's also when we got the humongous mussels..... 5" for sure!! A "dozen" lasted ALL morning!!
Yeah.... that "rock tango" ....is better in tennis shoes..... but cut up if you fell. I've broke more than one rod... falling while fishing in "precarious" places..... or on extended shoreline / jetty treks.
But great desire ..... and "visions of grandeur" make us fishermen do strange things. ....lol. Thanks for the memories ... brother!
Jerdog.....what did they think.....lol.... you were shooting the heads off?? Robbing others of their fish? (brother and buddies). Yeah never had sheriff's problems..... but the DFG. ... well you already know they hate me down there because of getting those 157 ticket cases tossed by a real judge.one time I was down there with my Brother , and he invited 2 friends,
and we Caught A bunch of Opal Eye Sheep head and bass,
when we got back to Shore ,
I set up on A big Rock to
Filet all the Fish ,so we could split it up,
and about half way done the Sea Gulls were thick,
and didn't thing nothing about it, till A Helicopter ,
circled over our head A couple of times,
then A Sheriff showed up in his Jeep on the Beach,
and asked us where the gun was,
and we said what the hell,
so he had us open up our back packs and check things out,
A little ways from the Rock , then when he was all Done ,those Sea Gulls
where Eating most of the Fish that I had Filet already,
we were so Pissed , he said he was sorry , but the Eye in the Sky thought
that they seen A gun,, but it had to be my knife Flashing in the sun .
Dennis.....what boat did you go on? Been a few years since I went..... but there are some great boats.... and a few "questionable" operations for sure. Knew many of those skippers while working at Hi's for years.I just did. $200 for a $130 trip in a San Francisco Bay boat for striper and halibut yesterday. Tipped big too.
Felt pretty damn good to go fishing again.

Stripes biting by the gate......rock pile?..... brothers?....Red rock? ......Angel Island? Just curious....inside or outside the Gate? Halibut have been onnthe chew in South City for sure.....anyways, Thanks.
Your wrongThe Aloha Spirit in Channel Islands is cutting load to 15 from 22 and charging $200.00. Basically your paying the rate to charter the boat and enjoying the numbers of a charter. I believe that Shawn will reduce the price when the government lets him carry 22 people again.
The 3/4 day San Diego,Your wrong
Aloha Spirit is 160$ + a 4% harbor fee works out to be 167$ open party for 15
Actually taking a hit of 100$ less over all
I charter the boat and rate now is 100$ less
than what I was quoted before this Rona Virus BS hit
Also there’s a reason the boat is booked solid well into July right now
The 3/4 day San Diego,
Is booked pretty much the next 2 weeks,
So razing the price is not really keeping,
People from going, supply and
Aloha Spirit is booked solid during the summer
year after year
This Captain runs one of the best Operations on the Gold Coast and that’s the reason boat is booked solid
If you want to see for yourself I can give you a spot on my 7/3/20 charter
I’ll just bump off 1 of the non payers lol
