Recent trip & likely my last trip this season turned out to be a good one. Pacific Queen with Capt. Gavin.

Day 1 consisted of micro YT and 4 pound YFT. A real baby killing experience but it's what's available.

Day 2 - the captain got some intel and decided to give it a go at San Clemente.

    Morning started out nice !!!

We motored around for a few hours trying to get them going -- and we finally found a school of biters !!! Heavy chum and they responded. 2 plus hours of blowups around the boat. These were 40-55 pound grade fish so 30-40 string was in order. I was having a challenge getting a bite so I dropped to 25lb flouro and was rewarded with 2 out of 3 BFT.

Great trip overall as the 2nd day really made up for the day 1 experience !!!! Nice to see this fish respond to Sardines in October.

Congrats!!! Similar for us. This was our problem. We could not make squid at Catalina, which had worked. We gave in at 2:30 got to our squid area at sci. Finally around 4:20 it floated. Just as I got brailer in the water three huge seals blow it up. I jigged about five. So we move onto desperation, anchored in 360 we chummed cut fresh dead squid. At 6:30 fish are busting all over. But won't touch lines. Marty went to Twenty lb and live squid. After ten minutes spooled. No Love on heavy. So at ten I had 25lb out with live squid again on. One hour 50 minutes see at color. Hook pulls. So two squid left. One gets stolen. Rick finally is bit on 30. Around 45 minutes we landed a sweet 67# bft.
