Quentin Turko grew up on the Outer Banks, while this stretch of coast’s adverse conditions spells catastrophe to many seafarers it represents a playground to others. Across the street from Quentin’s house, he points out to where a shipwreck lies, the irony is thick as he describes how much pleasure someone’s catastrophe has brought him. This man-made structure is an oasis in a desert of sand attracting an array of gamefish. Quentin first learned to fish and dive on this artificial reef provided by mishap, developing him into a world class waterman.
