I have a few of them. Got a yellowtail jackpot on the RP last year with one. Really like them for fishing the yellows on the ridge and at Cedros.

LOVE them! Had a couple on a trip to Cedros, and they were outfishing the standard 7X 4-1!
Got home and bought about 20-30 of them and haven't been back, but can't wait for the chance!
They look huge, but I got one that must have been 5 pounds, so the little guys will eat them, too.

Salas 7X and Tady 45's are my favorite surface irons.
Don't leave home without them in blue/white, scrambled egg, and mint/white!

These are the super 7x.... a bit larger than the 7x which I use all the time.

I got both, the Tady77 don't swim as well as the Salas super 7X. The Super 7X is a yellowtail killler, big bait, big fish. The 77s have only caught me barries.

I looked at them and said to myself..."self, what kind of fish would eat that?"

several backbreaking yellows later, I started the "hook and hand" program.

yeah, they work. :D

I am taking several on the Tabi-ho trip. They slow troll pretty well too.....

We threw them at the rocks for hoos in the purple people eater, and they came a runnin. They worked great for about a day and a half then the word must of spread and they wouldn't touch it.

We were letting them sink out for a 20 count before ripping them back to the boat.

At Cedros you want to swim them on the surface like any light iron.

The Super 7X is a full 2" longer than the 6X and almost 1/2" wider and 1" longer than the Tady 77.

Tuna never showed much interest in the super 7X's I showed to them, but the yellows at Cedros and Guadalupe seemed to like 'em pretty well.

The Super 7X is a yellowtail killler, big bait, big fish.

Excellent post on the Salas jigs. We have a bunch of super 7's and super 6's on the boat. Matt made us up a load of super 6's with SHOGUN carved into them. In my opinion and Norman also, the Super 6's get bit alot better than the super 7's. Both are hard to throw on a 10' rod so when I am throwing those I go with an 8' heavy jig stick. The yellows love 'em at all the standard places, but one spot that they are great for is at the north head of Guadalupe.

Nice to hear from some who fishes with these plugs all the time, Thanks Bruce! Forgot that Salas has a Super 6X, too, got to get me some of these! Do the Super 6Xs have the same hips the regular 6Xs? The 6X is my favorite jig for fishing kelp and Calicos!
