Hi guys, I'm planning to trailer down to the Long Beach area for a week or so this coming June.
Plan to visit/stay with a friend that has a live abroad slip in Long Beach. Don't know the name ,but the Queen Mary is seen from his slip. We plan to spend a few days at Catalina. We'll stay on his Silverton 42 (?) and fish my Radoncraft 22. He says there is room at his slip for us.

My concerns are about parking and security of my parked pick-up and trailer while out on the water. Wondering if there is another smaller/easier/secure launch close by.

Also my pal and his wife are counting on me to get into some fish as they are divers and don't know a thing about fishing from the top. I'm mostly a meat fisherman from the Cal/Or border, so I'll be reading up on the BD forum as to what's available and in season around the island. We do have a built in bait tank that would be of use from what I've read about the area.
No bait barge up here,so it's mostly used for storage or occasional livewell.

Looking forward to a new adventure and being able to fish in shorts.

    Thanks,
    K

Just a guess but likely your buddy is at Shoreline Marina. Being Long Beach nowhere is 100% safe but Davies Ramp @ 2nd St. & Marina Drive is good as any IMO and I live here.

This season is lining up to be another good one so June should be cranking at Catalina. If you wanted to study up beforehand I suggest Mark Wische's book "In The Grey". Really the bible for the island.
