Just returned this morning from one of the best trips I've been on. We left Thursday with 25 guys and headed towards lake Cortez. We arrived Friday morning south of the bank looking for some yellowfin that were caught the day before. That didn't work out so we headed up towards the bank. We had it to ourselves all day never saw another boat. 20181117_063516.jpg

Around 11 there were huge spots of breezers up and we stopped on a couple until one decided to bite. We drifted from 12 until dark with fish biting the whole time. It was a mix of bluefin and yellowfin all great size. When the smoke cleared we had 101 fish for the first day. I ended up hooking up 14 fish landing 2 bluefin 5 yellowfin and handing off 7 other bites to other anglers. I got bit on 30 to 50lb line using size 4 circle hooks.

Day 2 started off in the same area except there were 18 sportboats around. It didn't take long for us to get on a spot of fish and stayed on this drift until we had to head in. Our bait was weaker so it was tougher to get bit but we ended day 2 with 40ish bluefin and I went 2 for 2 putting my total at 4 bluefin and 5 yellowfin for the trip.
The crew worked very hard both days and the captain even jumped in to get a line untangled from the stern. Awsome food as well i would highly recommend this boat. Get on this bite before they are gone! 20181117_194656.jpg 20181117_174849.jpg 20181117_173835(0).jpg

When people call a bite “Wide” they should refer to this report for definition. Nice going
