S5100 or west coast rail

Fellow fishing and Parker nuts.

I just made a quick buck by buying and flipping a old family car. Wife hasn't claimed the cash yet so trying to move quick.

What should I spend it on -

a) Simrad s5100 to complement the Simrad Evo 3 and B175 I have in the boat, or

b) a WestCoast rail and windlass

I mostly fish offshore and seldom fish on the hook. I have survived with the lower East coast rail but it is a bit dangerous if you have to go to the front.

Would like to know from those guys who are running an S5100 if it's worth the $2100.

If you could only do one what would it be?

Having the high rail on our Parker is sooo dang nice! I don't feel any fear when going up to the bow for any reason. Easy to grab onto, and lean on if needed to regain balance. To me it's worth every penny, regardless of what you're fishing for.

Rail. You already have an existing unit that can be added to.

That rail can be a life saver.

5100 module...no question! Worth every dollar.

I have a Defiance with the taller rail, and that gives us confidence when slinging jigs

S5100, no regret here, just make sure to add a separate power switch to the
S-5100unit so you could play around with the main Evo unit without burning the transducer on dry land.
