Fished with Michael for the first time on Thursday, 07-20-17.

Bluefin Ghosts, pull another disappearing act. We left Mission Bay at 6am and returning at 8pm covering 150 miles working all of the 43, San Clemente Canyon and close to the 289 to within 8 miles of the east end of San Clemente Island. Billy/Jonathan I need some of your magic! Never say die and I will return and succeed!

Flew the kite with a Yummy for 4.5 hours in the blue water. Trolled a cedar plug and Zucchini feather for 3 more hours in the dirty green water, temps reached 75.3 degrees, yikes! Never saw a fish boil or birds working! Stopped on numerous kelp paddies for one small Yellowtail.

Such is another day of Ghost hunting so far for me this year I stink!

We've all been on those trips, Cory. Better luck next time. At least you enjoy the beautiful weather.

Some days are better than others. Yesterday I had them stacked under the boat like cordwood but could not get a sniff. Last Sunday could not go 10 minutes without getting a blowout on the flyer. Go figure...

You are right about that, one of the few good weather days I have been out in this year. Mother wind finally behaved herself!

No wind when the Wind Magnet was out? A miracle in itself! LOL LOL
Way to cover some water and give it the whole nine yards Cory!
You're due a cow bluefin sooner or later out there!!! GL next time!

OK Doc says I'm still healing, but I better go fish soon and take the Jinx
off this deal and bust these yellowfin wide open. Got cabin fever. LOL
    Someone has to? LOL

These monster BFT are similar to the elusive white sea bass.
You see guys catching 4 in a trip and many others just washing the paint off their yummy.
All we can do is keep at it and it will happen.

Keep at it bud, the past few weeks I have been doing everything right and have put a lot of time on the water for only one takedown without a hookup. This is the name of the game for these big BF you will get one soon. The fish are finally getting into a better pattern, the water temps is what's making us run around chasing cooler water.

Fish are no different. If they are full of food, they likely won't eat. Based on the amount of bait people are claiming to be in the water, chovies, red crab, etc., it's an opportunistic bite, no doubt.

Good try Cory! You won't know if you don't go.
