It WAS a great trip! Despite the adverse conditions the group and crew turned it up a couple notches and all worked together. Good times!

Any modifications to the lures? I.e. hooks, swivels, wire size, etc.

What size wire? Single strand or multistrand?

    Hey Doug,
How were you guys rigging that Orange Mackerel? Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like five or six feet or some kind of wire? Thanks. Don

The only thing I would recommend is using a 175# harness, no changes to the hooks or anything else. Trolls deeper with the lighter harness. I think next time I may use 80# floro instead of 100# to gain even more depth!

Hey Don -- most of the guys were using a 3' - 4' 275lb trolling harness with a mcmahon snap. If you buy the pre made harness, make sure you clip off the rubber boot that covers the snap. Hope this helps.

Hey Tom - a few of the bigger wahoo (50lbs +) had the full size DTX down their throat and completely swallowed. Had they been using a fluoro leader, they probably would have lost the fish. My buddy took some pictures of the inhaled DTX and I'll post them up once I get them. Thanks. Doug

275# multistrand. Don't change the stock hooks or you're gonna have a bad time.
