I am excited to be on this trip again this year. It is such a cool opportunity to do great fishing and attend lectures to get CME. This year there are 6 hours of CME confirmed, 2 hours pending. They still have openings if anybody in the medical field wants to go. It is also an open trip for non medical anglers. Interestingly a lot of the non medical guys came to the 1 lecture a day last year because they found the cutting edge presentations to be so fascinating. For the medical folks there is an opportunity to take a tax deduction for their trip expenses. Call Carol at 877-686-7827 or PM me if you want to go.
We hope that the bluefin and Albacore show up again this year. Otherwise it will be Alijos for the yellowtail and yellowfin.

    Tight lines

Another asinine hole in the tax code, but if I was a doc, I'd jump on it in a hurry.

So, since I'm a wannabe gynecologist, can I write the trip off then? :D

    OK, I give.

    What's a CME?

How come I don't have one in my tackle box?

    Choate, you need an intern?

Doctors in CA are required to average about 25 hours per year of continuing medical education. Since it is required for the profession it is logical and not asinine that it be a tax deduction.
I did this trip last year and we legitimately did 10 hours of lecture that was interesting and informative.

I'll be on this trip with my dad, who is a pediatrician. If you are still looking to add another lecture, my dad said he might be interested. Looking forward to the trip!

I agree. Anybody who is forced by the government to spend money to keep up any business or professional credentials should be able to deduct those expenses from their income. Thanks for defending the legitimacy of the trip Blaine. We will miss you this year.

We still have 4 spots so PM or email me if anybody is interested.

Not only would this benefit the Medical field, but any occupation can organize a trip for business related groups who hold informative meetings during the trip and memorialize in hardcopy to verify for IRS validation. Might open the fleet for new CMs in the future. P.S. David, I'd say amateur gynecologists should get the deduct.

Dan, in the future why don't you change to that fall 11 dayer that used to be the Willie/Wahoodad charter? I'd rather do a fall longer trip. Good luck on your trip. I hope you have good weather.

Sounds like a trip for Brandon. It may not be tax deductible but I think he could use some help in these areas and who knows he may catch a fish or two. What a deal!
