Hey everyone...I am looking for rod suggestions for two reels I have.

    1. torium 16 - 20-30lb live bait setup

    2. Penn fathom 40 2-speed (I’m assuming this reel will be mostly used more sparingly and reserved for bigger BFT, flat falls etc or possibly yo yo for YT)

willing to spend more on the torium setup since I feel it’ll get way more action then the penn fathom.

also, not mentioned but I have a jig stick setup as well that I use for surface and yo-yo

    What ya think?

I think you'll get a variety of opinions of what other people like.

I’d look for a 7-8ft 25lb rod. Torium 16 can fish 15-40lb if you want to. Glass is more forgiving and load up better, composites and graphite’s are stiffer and you can maneuver a fish better.

Get a 60lb rod for the 40N. It’s a super versatile reel that can Fish anywhere from heavy 50-60lb and light 80lb applications. A general purpose rod would work great with that reel. I personally have mine on a 780XXH, 800XH and TAC80XH, and a BTG6490H.

Thanks so far for the input. I ended up getting a Seeker Pinhead Series 8ft 15-30 for my torium... its gonna be awesome for it and I'm pumped.

A huge upgrade from the Ugly Stick Tiger rod I had for years :)

I have a brand new 50-60# rod for bait and yo-yo if your interested. Perfect match for the Fathom 40.
