i would like to put a couple of new rod inserts in my 2320. Any recommendations on brands that won’t bankrupt me but are good quality? Mainly using for yellowtail and tuna. The plastic ones that come with the new Parker’s are terrible yellowtail broke one of them already.

Do you mean flush gunnel mount rod holders?
If so, make sure you get ones that are welded not just pressed together.

You mean rod holder inserts right? I've used "Dovewill 2 Pieces 48mm Flush Mount Boat Yacht Fishing Rod Holder Pole Rack Inner Tube Liner Sleeve & Cap Cover Replacement" from Amazon. They work ok as long as you dont have thick rod butts. I've also used "White Water Rod Holder Replacement Liners and Caps" and they suck ass. I could glue them in I guess (not sure I'd want to do that) but these ones came out everytime I pulled any rod out of the holder. Honestly still looking for a better option.

Based on using for “tuna and yellowtail” and a “yellowtail broke one already”I think he is talking about the rod holder and not a liner/insert.

Why they made it plastic; I have no idea. mine broke on the first bluefin. I forgot which ones I replaced it with....but similar to these

I installed these on my boat. Once the stock rod holder was removed I just took a rotary file bit and drill motor to remove the little bit of material and they dropped right in. They are solid, only disclaimer is no clue how they would hold up on a jumbo blue fin, but have caught larger halibut in the 60 pound range.

    They are made by Burnewiin.

I must be missing something. All my "Parker" rod holders are stainless. I use backing plates on them so they can withstand a lot more than what's standard, but plastic??? Wtf?

You missed the part where new parkers come with plastic holders. How you missed it I don't know as it's stated in the OP

I didnt miss anything. I should have stated that I just bought 2 new "Parker" rod holders from WCM because I wanted 6 on my gunwales. They were welded stainless, just like my old ones so I assumed op was talking about his inserts.

On new parkers, the two rod holders on each corner of the stern are "rod holder/cup holder" combos. The top plate in which you see looking down is stainless, but the actual rod/cup holder is plastic.

I believe they will be changing those to stainless ones for newest models
