All I can say, is that I'm eagerly awaiting the build thread. These questions are WAY beyond my budget, or consideration.

This is a design I’m really interested in. Looks sexy...Lovechild from an Ocean Sport Roamer and an aluminum boat. 33x11 ish, 23 degrees deadrise at transom, reverse chine. 1/4” bottom, 3/16“ sides, 325 g fuel, 60 g water, 40 g waste. will try and fit in twin copilot suspension seats, helm suspension seat, large dinette with quarter berth underneath. Two large voids in cockpit to hold SMAK tote and other for freezer. floor fish boxes along the side with macerators, and a hummingbird fish finder....
Dare to dream....

Wife already came up with the name....”This Is The Way”

anyone have experience with Suzuki 350s? Will I need power assist steering if I go with those or 300s? Was reading on THT that it was recommended for the big Suzukis and Yamahas.

Something about 12:1 compression and a way over tuned V6 are not exactly a recipie for reliability. A few local guys have smoldered 4-5 of them.

That is sweet. It would be cool if Yamaha extended that to their other platforms or at least redesigned their lower units. Would save me the hassle of a haul-out or sling time.
Do you have performance data on your boat yet With the Yamaha 300s? Similar size to the build I was thinking of.

Will post #'s when I supposedly get it this month. I've been told to expect 3mpg by someone on here but I'm not buying it. During sea trials on the last one with the same hull I saw 22-24kt cruise @ 3750 @ 1.2-1.3mpg in dead flat slack water out of Everett, 5800 WOT. That was with 2 guys, a smak tote filled to the top with water, fish hold filled with water, and 150g in the tank. I then saw it get .8 out of ilwaco running fully loaded (6 guys, bait, ice, 800 rods, etc) offshore in moderate/big swell seas. The owner has a lead foot and says he avgs .8 - 1.2. YMMV, but I expect 1.0 - 1.3 for how/where I'll run it.
with only 800 rods they are undergunned !!!

So far with mine the only problem I’ve had is bad seals in both lower units, Performance marine replaced them under warranty and at no cost.

Sounds like they are on the 3rd generation of replacement seals and hopefully they have figured it out!

I run 89 octane fuel through mine, if I can’t get 89 at the dock I have been using an octane booster, boosttane, I believe its called.

The power and torque is definitely there for my boat, 15500 lbs on the trailer. Fully loaded ocean trip I’m averaging 1mpg, San Juan’s with the wife and kid I’m about 1.8 mpg.

the Suzuki gauges have been flawless, the Simrad MFD’s and autopilot have worked seamlessly with the Suzuki stuff.

overall they have been fantastic so far, only time will tell over the long haul.

Have you thought about trying to convert a older ocean sport to outboards? I know the factory is offering a outboard model with a offshore bracket. And you may be able to find a deal on a older hull.

i thought the skagit orca 27 was a great boat. they are still making them in washington with outboard brackets. around 200k. we put a 1/2 tote where the engine was and two 225 hondas on the back. great riding boat. that being said, i went with a north river 25 and a 300 suzuki. 3 miles per gallon. i have two totes inside after removing the back seats. still have 8' of cockpit with a 60 gallon bait tank in the back. $110k total with great electronics. jim

Everyone was mentioning mapping earlier in this thread:
Furuno updated the software in the TZT3 so that you anything outside of a TZT3 MFDand the DFF3D setup.
