They're easy to find. Locate a school of Snipes and fish the surface with a 12oz dropper loop rig. I find juvenile bullet tuna as the perfect bait.
Get the bait, find the snipes, toss the sinker rig, fish the surface...easy!

    Hey Jerry,

Most people are going to think this is a trick question, as there haven't been any albacore remotely close to SD in over 15 years. If this is your tuna of choice, I would suggest going to Morro Bay or anywhere north of that for news on albies.

You may have to settle for the same old-same old bluefin, yellowfin or yellowtail from SD. I suspect the dorado will be invading our water soon with the warm water pushing up. It's only mid-July and the party is just starting to rumble.

    Thank you for your service!

I saw the Ranger 85 had a couple on 2.5, was there closer news?

I’d like them here in Mission Viejo if that were possible :D

6.5 lber weighed in at balboa angling sunday around 230 off a 24 skippy, so I doubt he was outside US waters.

Water temperatures have reached 72 in the Catalina channel. Long as it remains in this range, only a matter of time before exotic species are all over local water.

Hey Jerry, If you're up to some fishing get on one of the Tak trips. Calico's are eating sardines and a few on the iron. The seabass are pretty much gone, the nets took care of that. Plenty of yellows around. I went yesterday and we had limits of bass and yellows
