No 6 day for my brother or myself this year. This year our nonfishing brother and my fishing brothers 2 kids are going to go to SD for 2 3/4 days back to back along with myself.

Here's what I'm asking. Normally we want fishiest crew/boat/captain etc.

However with the kids I'm asking what platform is fishy but SAFE and has a captain that keeps it relatively clean? I don't really care how "great" the deck hands are as my brother and I can attend the kids short of gaffing. That would be f'd without captains permission.

We just come from working on the Spirit of Adventure as crew and want a similar "captain mentality" if it exists. Don't need baby sitters.

Open to SD or Mission. It's been many years since we've fished less than day range out of either.

Okay ready for suggestions...and if u wanna sling crap ready for that too.

Just trying to show my brothers kids what Dad and uncle Jason used to working charter boats without giving them a poor view from bad apples. Well have our handfuls with the pelagics but won't be in the way. Just want the kids to experience what we did before our father passed

Thanks ahead of time and real reports will come after trip as I've as lve always shared in detail the last few years

The San Diego is the best 3/4 day in the World! She's out of Seaforth in Mission Bay. The Captain, Ryan Bostian, is a good friend of mine and a class act. I could not recommend him or the San Diego more.

Hope you guys fill the boat!

The Seaforth 1/2 day boat got tuna today.

    When are you coming?

You might have a good shot at some family members eating some hearts.

LOL if we wanted to drive we would head to Dana Wharf where we worked on all the boats in the 90s. If we wanted to fish cut rate we would join u on the 95 ;) . We would rather stick to SD. But thanks gor the solid tip :D

San Diego, preferably on weekdays... Weekend trips sell out quickly, but you're OK with 3 weeks

The San Diego has been fishing the Islands....passport required.

There should be 3/4 day trips looking for tuna then, in US waters, or far enough offshore where a passport is not required.

Exotics Sport Fishing for a Private Charter...Great Captain , Fishermen and friend of mine.... San Diego is on top of the 3/4 day list for sure. ... Fishermen 3 is a decent boat but is not ideal for kids...

Good Luck... Hope you get some...

Crap....didn't even think about passports. Us 3 brothers have them. No idea if my nephews do. I thought u needed them to fish the loop. Man fishing south of the border has gotten complicated. :/

What about one of those private boats that you can rent out for the day? Since you are both former deckhands, you should have certain go to spots already. Just throwing it out there.

If I was going to be introducing two kids as young as 6 years old to ocean fishing, I would be very hesitant to put them in the middle of forty or more hectic people on a party boat. You could get a 1/2 day charter on a solid 6-pack like the Josie Lynn out of Pt. Loma for $800, which is not much more than five tickets on a 3/4 trip on the San Diego, and Capt. Mike could find them some bonito and small yellowtail and such to play with, and they could go up on the flybridge and have a wonderful time.
