Good to know. Is this the handle you use Fishing wahoo bombs etc? I think I like it

No, but it will be. I just got it in the mail today. I used a gold Trinidad handle on a couple of trips this year and liked the extra power. The original handle is shorter so you can turn it faster but then there’s that lack of cranking power. The silver matches the reel and the knob isn’t white!

Here it is with a Stella 18k knob on the Torium handle. I'm saying it's now as good as it gets! As you can see, I put the Torium knob back on the original TranX handle too, hey, it ain’t white! What, you don’t put your crown and coke in a Waterford crystal old fashion glass? Come on... it‘s an expensive reel and deserves the best, as of course, I do too! I hope the Wahoo appreciate the effort I’ve gone through for them!

That looks great! If you ever think of getting rid of the original handle and sell it, I’d love to purchase it. I like them in my 400’s.

Hello my brother. Question. On your TRANX 500 DID YOU CHANGE THE HANDLE AND THE KNOB. AND DO YOU REMEMBER THE COST

I did it in 3 phases

1. Stella 18k knob on stock handle.
2. Torium handle/knob. ~$35.
3. Torium handle/Stella knob.

I used the Trinidad20a handle and it fits the 500. There are 2 holes in the handle and I was unable to use the last hole. This is because on a cast the handle would engage the reel. In that case you can say bye to your jig. The shorter hole was perfect but it’s only about 1/2” longer than the stock 500. Still it gives you more power and speed.

Thank you for the information. Question. Did you buy your parts from the Shimano authorized dealer. And did Shimano allow you just to buy the stella 18k knob. Or did you have to purchase the handle and knob. I called Shimano $180 for the handle and knob. Stella 18k. They do not sell knobs separately. so did that seem kind of sort of right to you. Shimano gave me a lot of different advice. Shimano stated the torium handle would not even fit On our Tranx500. Anything you can do would help out clearly they do not know what they're talking about. I guess the bottom line is. Do you have

I got the parts direct from Shimano ordering from their web site. I got just the Stella knobs without the handle blank. The Torium 16/20HG handle fits the TranX 500 perfectly... as does the old Trinidad 20 handle I have on my other Tranx500!

For those who think the stock handle is too short, the Torium 16/20 handle is a perfect fit!

I see that you use the 1st hole on the handle and I saw another post that mentioned that if you use the last hole, the handle would be too heavy and engage the the spool, is this why you used the 1st hole to mount the handle on?

I wanted more power while still keeping the speed up. I’m sure you can still cast on the longest position if you‘re careful where the handle is before casting... plenty of baitcasters can have that issue but it’d be worse with a longer, heavier handle.

Makes sense, never the less, thanks for the tip on the Torium handles, just what I was looking for.
