Went on a two day charter on the relentless last weekend, 5/31-6/2. We had an awesome group of guys, awesome crew, awesome bait, awesome weather. The only thing that wasn’t awesome was the fishing. A serious lack of current kept the yt and bass from ever getting after it.

We tried hard both days to find some yt and calicos that wanted to play but it wasn’t to be.

So we went with plan c and did a lot of rock fishing. Which was the best I have seen it. We caught plenty of bottom dwellers for everyone.

On Sunday I had caught my fill of rock fish on the dropper loop, so I switched it up to a flat fall. On my last drop of the trip, I got hammered as soon as I hit the bottom and started feeling some nasty head shakes. Put my 40nld2 in low and cranked up my first ever legal ling. It also took the jp for the second day.

Even though we had tough fishing on anything top water. I cannot say enough about the crew. They were on top of everything. Capt Mikey does a great job of letting you know what’s going on and what the plan is. Plus the food was on point.

Drone video to follow once I get caught up at work.

Good weather on a 2 day sure helps, the lack of exotics a bummer. Congrats on the big Ling! Enjoy the fish tacos. Mickey and crew give it their all always!
