I haven't seen anything like this so hopefully this will help out other members.

How about a thread stating what make and model reel, weight class and name of braid, and how much braid you got on there. I'm sure yardage will vary, but at least people can get an idea of what they are looking at.

    I'll start.....

    Penn Fathom 25LD2
    PP Max Cuatro 65#
    500 yards

    Penn Fathom 40NLD2
    Berkely PS 80#
    600 yards

That seems a little low. On the Penn site it states 565 of 80#. Mine doesn't seem that far off. I have it all the way to the brim with no top shot. I'll add a 4-5' leader when I need it.

I was thinking 80lbs and alternating between 40lbs-60lbs fluro leaders.

I don't see that as a problem. The only thing to watch for is capacity due to going with 80#, but that depends on what you are going to use it for. Max cuatro would solve that problem. The Valiant line doesn't have the same capacity as some of the other reels in the same class, but makes up for it in weight. Max throws all that out the window.

I went with a Fathom 40NLD2 with 80# Berkely PS to use with 60# leaders. Got 600 yards on it.
