I must say that I’ve never tipped them or seen anyone else tip them. They certainly deserve a tip more than most in service jobs that always have their hands out. I’ll tip them this year!
100% Huck. i never see people tip. the best thing i think we can do is have the charter master or other seasoned long ranger on the trip ask all the anglers in line for 5$. thats $120-$150 per trip for the red shirts. and after spending thousands on a trip 5 bucks is negligible money.

    So, I'm not familiar with the Red Shirts. Granted I don't take near as many trips as alot of you, he'll who am I kidding, as most of you Long Rangers. I try to get in a trip a
    month during the summer. Mostly less than 3 days.
    A few questions;
    Are they working for the landings?
    Is there a minimum number of days the trip has to be before they help you?
    How does one solicit them for help?
    I typically fly solo and ain't getting any younger. I usually try to book trips with a 1/2 day in them (1.5, 2.5, 3.5) because they typically leave in the afternoon or evening.
    Makes it easier for driving from Arizona. Leave in the morning and get on the boat in the afternoon. Eliminates the need for a hotel room. I would not be embarrassed to use their services and yes I'm a tipper.
    Help me tip the Red Shirts.

    The guys are great! I always tell Billy I’m really happy to see him because it means I’m going fishing. Always hand him a twenty as they share tips.

    Just Fisherman's Landing and Point Loma.

    No for H&M.
    No for Red Rooster III.
    Seems like H&M is lagging a little there in the customer service area…

    Thank you for this thread Soda and your advice.

    I paid a bit more attention on my recent 3 day departure and these guys really do provide great service and excellent communication in getting things sorted for a smooth boarding. A tip well earned.

    Recently went out on the Vagabond! Made sure that I connected with Billy. Super nice dude that patiently answered all my questions. Being a solo passenger he helped me (and others) get dialed in on the process. Definitely made a huge positive impact on my trip. When we returned along with a few other boats he noticed me and even remembered my name. That’s TOP NOTCH!
