I was there, great fishing. All at Hurricane Bank. Many were caught on flylined skipjack and squid on the kite. We timed the weather just right. First day found fish up in the shallows chasing small flying fish. Second day the fish keyed on the skipjack. Catch a skippie, pin it on a 7691 10/0 and send it out. Night bite would start at 5 A.M. and then have a lull after sun up due to no current. When the skippies came through the tuna would be there too. End of trip, 195 Yellowfin, most 180# plus. 105 Wahoo, caught outside Clarion

Wild Bill, congrats! What a trip, good timing. I remember a trip I got to fish with Bill, who took 2nd place in the JP on this trip with the largest of his two cows at 229.6.

Bill, I know you remember that trip ; when 2nd place was 305 ;)

They were not at the lower banks - hurricane banks is ~ 500 miles offshore. The lower banks are looking good too, but not like this.

Good fishing on the Wahoo too - were the Raiders put to good use or something else?

Bombs were the best. The Sea Strike 33's were second, blue and chrome. I got bit well on Sea Strike 33 gold and green. You never know what flavor is next...

The second time I've heard this as a rumor. (as far as I know)

I think I'll check with somebody who DOES know.
