I'm looking places that would cater to the non fisherman in my group when I head down in August, basically I need a resortish place that could keep the ladies happy while the boys fish. Many thanks!!

Agree with La Mission and Loreto , but catching fish Cabo cant be beat in my opinion. Dont care for party scene and tourist trap stuff in Cabo? You might try La Paz use Tail Hunters to help set you up. They have a good name and have been down there a long time.
    Have a good Baja trip!

I agree your only real choice is La Mision or on second thought down in the East cape. Loreto that time of year is scorching hot as it is not tempered by the Pacific like Cabo and that area. If you like panga fishing and a really nice hotel and pool Loreto is it. Qaint town...feels safe and very friendly...location of the first mission in Baja.

San Q, BAY OF LA, and CEDROS are a no go for resort.

San Quintin had Jardines, Old Mill and a few other spots. Villa San Quintin is a nice hotel on the highway with a bar, restuarant, and room service...
But get off the highway to see Baja...
So for short term there are some things to do.
Lazaro Cardinas is actually the town the Old Mill is in.
The last town of the 4 towns that make up San Quintin Valley. Starting with Camalu.
The bay and oceanfront beaches here are as good as any in Baja.
And the summer weather is the best anywhere. 75-80 with a beeeze. You will need sunblock...
The Santa Maria hotel is oceanfront and has everything...
The beach is amazing there... miles if it...
Everything you need is on the highway here.
    News flash...
    We are getting a Walmart!
So a great place to prep for trips south...
All the captains at the Old Mill ramp are good.
And every place else you mentioned is fun... but super hot on Sea of Cortez this time of year.
    Fish like hot...

Wife bought a house in El Socorrito. Are we really getting a Walmart in the San Quintin area? Quick web search did not show anything.

Yep. North of the Calimax about a mile.
It has a 5 pump Pemex that is big and fancy.
    That will open anyday now.
Next to it they have done all the excavation and prep work.
    Contruction will begin soon.
    It will be big.
I love Socorrito... looked at lots there before I bought at Pedregal...
    We're neighbors...

Thanks for the reply. I am in the middle of fixing the El Socorrito house to livable standards. I checked the houses in Pedregal, they were definitely very cool. Saul is rebuilding a house in Pedregal and helping with our project. He left for Canada in July. Do you know him?
At any rate, after we get organized we will have to meet up.

Ok. Let's get together and fish when you can.
    Is your runway still usable?
I am a pilot and have access to planes.
And am saving for my own plane and also trying to find a rich girlfriend... whichever comes first... no pun intended
