Thanks for the info-Looking at one of the surplus motors as well and was just curious how it worked out. Sydney down in SD has some good prices on them.

I have a 2012 150 e-tec, mine is also xd 100, runs great on it. engine just plain runs. I put the 4 blade on mine ; I like the way the 4 blade works for powering between the sets, better throttle response.

I added a foil to mine it’s a major game changer coming to plane, motor doesn’t labor at all!

Rod rage you probably need a stern lifting prop to help with pop in you up. 4 blade props do that well. .

Thank you sir, Maybe in the future but the foil is treating me right for the cost at this point.

What kind of foil did you put on yours? Im curious for my 150 e tec. Also, does kelp hang up on it more so than without the foil?[/QUOWest Marine has a few to choose from.
No issues with kelp, Keep yer ass end out at all times!

Was it fairly dramatic improvement? Does that foil bolt on or just slip on? I used one on my last engine , doel fin and it helped.

Yes It is a huge improvement my boat used to have a hard time planning I’d really have to romp on it now it comes out of the hole like a dream and mileage improved also, they have an adapter for it to slip on or you can bolt it on I made the mistake of doing the slip on virsion the first time around and it fell off after three trips but I liked it so much I went and bought another one and drilled it in
