Killer job going up the ramp. Looks amazing! It is an awesome blank for sure it will kill some fish.
I tried to do the JTOB/variation and I had to cut it off 3 times.. Master E. I tried what we discussed.. and it was a disaster. The metalic kept flaking, Trying to do a JTOB or variation with Size A - Metalic is beyond me so far. I can do it with D- nylon. but not metalic. I finally gave up and kept telling myself a gold fade would look cool....
It pops for sure
Fade looks perfect and colors work well together. Nice done.
About time you finished that. Turned out nice Todd.
I have the same problem. Mostly technique related for me. Wondering if your thread tensioning device pinches the thread or puts pressure on the spool? I have the one that pinches the threads. That plus pulling the thread under the wrap with tension it always flakes.
Thanks. Looking forward to fishing it. This sure feels like the ideal So. Cal blank and size 7'9" so you can toss some IRON With it. Soft enough to fish 20 and enough back bone to fish 40 if you wanted too.
I plan to fish with this MXL 6/4 with 60# braid and 25-30# mono top shots
It is my go to live bait rig and can handle most all the fish we see except those jumbo BFT.
Thanks Bill for the ALPS dual trigger reel seat. He had some extras his last visit and gave me a smokin deal on it. Something I would not normally splurge on.
It looooks and feels sweet with the reel and the Gold/Blue theme though out.
Looks sweet.. Enjoy.. glad you put that seat to good use..
Sweet fade. Well done!
